What’s the story: These helpful time-saving practices keep claims moving smoothly.

Why it matters: Don’t waste any more time on tedious phone calls, ambiguous paperwork and long waits.

Every moment counts in business, especially when customer expectations and costs are high. Filing numerous claims, tracking them and hoping for a quick resolution can be time-consuming, but it doesn’t have to be. Here are some ways to speed things up and make the process more manageable.

Prepare Before You File

  • Keep your shipping records where you can locate them quickly. Almost all claims require documentation reflecting proof of loss, such as an invoice or bill of sale, packing list, replacement invoice and repair estimate.
  • Know in advance what type of photos to submit. Adjusters want to see a 360-degree angle of the box and damaged goods.
  • Submit all required documents when you file your claim. This will help reduce back and forth requests with the adjuster.

Take Timely Action When a Loss Occurs

  • Snap pictures of damage as soon as you become aware of it.
  • Notify the insurer of the loss or damage first, then the carrier.
  • File the claim with supported documentation and photos.
  • Prioritize by filing claims that have the biggest business impact before others.

Save Time with a Turnkey Process

It typically takes less than 10 minutes to initiate an online shipping claim1 and you get visibility of the claim status keeping you informed along the way. Choosing electronic payment options can also help expedite payment to your account and reduce potential delays.
