Freight Club had a vision to offer customers a better way to ship oversized items by focusing on accessibility, affordability, simplicity and convenience. Launched in 2015 by Cymax Group, the standalone SaaS solution grew into an industry leading B2B shipping and logistics platform with a passion for customer service.

The Challenge

An inefficient claims process resulted in negative customer reviews.

Shipping damages and carrier claims disputes out of Freight Club’s control were hurting the company’s reputation. The carrier liability they’d had been using was challenging their commitment to 5-star service, so the company began looking for a better option.

The Solution

Freight Club integrated UPS Capital easy-to-use APIs so that customers can efficiently protect their goods.

Using UPS Capital’s InsureShield® Connect APIs, Freight Club added insurance coverage to its e-commerce platform. The software lets customers use Freight Club’s convenient shipping system and easily protect goods all at once. Customers can select transportation carriers, determine carrier rates, protect items and open a claim from one convenient site.

Chris Randall, VP of revenue for Freight Club, said “claim approvals nearly tripled” as a result.

With a lot of experience applying data analytics to pinpoint and reduce risks, the UPS Capital team informs Freight Club which carriers, types of cargo and packaging drive damages. This lets Freight Club make thoughtful logistical decisions to avoid situations that can drive claims, helping to minimize potential losses and creating a better customer experience and real cost savings.
